Ellesmere Port Market Hall.
An impressive tensile structure by Fabric Architecture frames the customer entrance to the new Ellesmere Port Market Hall. With the building of a new ASDA Wallmart superstore nearby, the vacated ASDA store was completely redeveloped, inlcuding internal fabric screens above trading units and suspended kite structures over cafe and restaurant areas.

The entrance canopy is a single piece of fabric, over 40m long, and was lifted into place using two cranes in tandem. A fabric weather seal connects the free-standing structure to the building, providing a dry and sheltered entrance and waiting area.

A range of colourful internal structures over each market stall creates colour-coded zones of similar business types throughout the market.
